Britain’s car industry will have an uncertain future unless the country accelerates investment in battery manufacturing, the chief executive of Vauxhall-owner Stellantis has warned. Without local battery plants in their supply chain, auto makers will have to produce their vehicles elsewhere, Carlos Tavares said. “I fear that if you don't have the battery supply in the UK, for the UK, the market will be in trouble.”
